FUTURE PERFECT


Future perfect is a verb form that expresses action completed by a specified time in the future.

Subject + "will/be going to have" + Verb3 + Object

1. Completed Action before sth in The Future
    Example:
    a. By next November, I will have received my promotion.
    b. I am not going to have finished this test by 4 o'clock.
    c. Will she have learned enough English to communicate before she moves to Japanese.
    d. Sam is probably going to have completed the proposal by the time he leaves this afternoon.
    e. By the time I finish this course, I will have taken ten tests.
  
2. Duration before sth in The Future
    Example:
    a. I will have been in Qatar for six months by the time I leave.
    b. I will have been here for six months on June 25rd.
    c. By the time you read this I will have left.
    d. They will have completed the project before the deadline.
    e. By Friday, Sarah is going to have had my book for a week.

PRESENT PERFECT

Present perfect is the form of the verb used for actions or events that have been completed or have happened in a period of time up to now.

Subject + "have/has (not)" + Verb3 + Object

1. How Long? (since, for)
    Example:
    a. I have known Auliya since 1994.
    b. She has lived in Jakarta for 3 years.
    c. I have thought about it for two hours.
    d. You have been sick since last week.
    e. I haven't been quite myself since the accident.

2. Life Experience (never, ever, before)
    Example:
    a. I have been to Malaysia.
    b. She has never studied to Japanese.
    c. I have been to Singapure three time.
    d. He has never travelled by train.
    e. Hasan has studied 2 foreign languages.

3. Unfinished Time Word (this month, this week, today, in the today, frequently, already)
    Example:
    a. She has had lunch today.
    b. We have seen Surya this week.
    c. I have worked hard this week.
    d. It has rained a lot this year.
    e. We haven't seen him today.

4. Present Result
    Example:
    a. I have lost my keys!
    b. Raihan has missed the bus, so he'll be late.
    c. Have you just finished work?
    d. I have just eaten.
    e. We have just seen her.

PAST PERFECT

Past Perfect is expresses the idea that something occurred before another action in the past. It can also show that sometthing happened before a specific time in the past.

Subject + "had" + Verb3 + Object

1. Completed Action before Something in The Past (when, before, after, already, as soon as, just)
    Example:
    a. As soon as she had done her homework, she went to bed.
    b. I had never seen such a beautiful beach before I went to Anyer.
    c. It had already stopped raining when I bought an umbrella.
    d. The whole house had just burnt down when the fireman got there.
    e. As soon as she had got married. She regretted it.

2. Duration before Something in The Past
    Example:
    a. When he graduated, he had been in London for six years.
    b. We had had that car for ten years before it broken down.
    c. Everyone had gone home by the Darda had got to the party.
    d. By the time Aisyah got home, Rahmah had already cooked dinner.
    e. By the time Arfan finished his studies, he had been in London for over eight years.

3. Explain or Give Reason
    Example:
    a. I'd eaten dinner so I wasn't hungry.
    b. I did not have any money because I had lost my wallet.
    c. I lost so much weight because I had begun exercising.
    d. He stayed up all nigt because he had received a lot of homework.
    e. They were in shock because they had never thought about it before.

4. Reported Speech
    Example:
    a. Mary said she had already seen this film.
    b. Haikal said that he had never eaten sushi before.
    c. She told me that she had finished, but I knew she had not.
    d. He told me that he hadn't done his homework, but he was hoping to finish it on the bus.
    e. I thought I had sent her a birthday card, nut I was wrong.

5. Third Conditional
    Example:
    a. If I had known you were ill, I would have visited you.
    b. If Mary had studied harder, she would have passed the exam.
    c. If only I had known the answer to that question.
    d. If I had had enough money, I would have bought you a better present.
    e. I would have been very angry if you had laughed when I got the answer wrong.

FUTURE SIMPLE

Future simple is use for actions that will happen in the future.

Subject + "will" + Verb + Object

1. Voluntary Action (will)
    Example:
    a. I will send you the information when I get it.
    b. Will you help me move this heavy table?
    c. You will make dinner.
    d. I will make some sandwiches.
    e. I will get you some coffee.

2. Express a Promise (will)
    Example:
    a. I will call you when I arrive.
    b. Don't worry, I will be careful.
    c. I won't tell anyone your secret.
    d. I will help you with your homework.
    e. Will you give me a hand?

3. Unplanned Actions
    Example:
    a. They will dance all night long.
    b. Don't worry! I will help you with this problem.
    c. I will close the window. It's starting to rain.
    d. This winter will be so cold.
    e. Hold on. I will get a pen.

4. Express a Plan (be going to)
    Example:
    a. He is going to spend his vacation in Hawaii.
    b. I am going to be an actor when I grow up.
    c. Mahmud is going to begin medical school next year.
    d. They are going to drive all the way to Alaska.
    e. Who are you going to invite to the party?

5. Predictions (will/be going to)
    Example:
    a. I think the Conservatives will win the next election.
    b. The year 2222 will be very interesting year.
    c. John Smith is going to be next President.
    d. The movie "Zenith" is going to win several Academy Awards.
    e. He thinks his son's team will win the match.

6. Indicate Situations or Actions in Future
    Example:
    a. My son is going to be ten next month.
    b. We will leaves as soon as he arrives.
    c. We are going to the shop when it stops raining.
    d. Ahmad will finish the work by 5pm.
    e. Quickly please children! 
        Class will starts in five minutes.

7. First - Person Singular (shall/will)
    Example:
    a. I shall arrive before noon.
    b. They will run before noon.
    c. We shall be away tomorrow.
    d. Shall I open the window?
    e. Shall we go together in one car?

PRESENT SIMPLE


Present simple is a form of the verb that refers to an action or event that is on going or that regularly takes place in present time.

Subject + Verb1 + Object

1. Habits (everyday, often, always, sometime, never)
    Example :
    a. They drive to the office everyday.
    b. The news usually starts at 6:00 every morning.
    c. We leave for work at 7:30 am every morning.
    d. My husband watches the TV in the evening.
    e. Sometime Susan meets with her friends after school.

2. Generally True
    Example :
    a. Cats like milk.
    b. Bird doesn't like milk.
    c. Berlin is the capital city of Germany.
    d. The elephant doesn't fly.
    e. London is the capital city of France.

3. Future Timetables
    Example :
    a. The train leaves tonight at 6 P.M.
    b. The bus does not arrive at 7 AM, it arrives at 7 PM.
    c. The plane arrives in London at 11:45.
    d. The lesson starts in five minutes.
    e. The film begins at 8 o'clock.

4. Permanent Situation
    Example :
    a. She works in bank.
    b. He plays tennis.
    c. I live in Boston.
    d. He works as a fireman.
    e. Margaret drives a Volkswagen.

5. Events or happens in books, plays or films
    Example :
    a. The hero dies at the end of the film.
    b. A man travels through Europe, where he meets different people, and finally falls in love.
    c. This is the "brave new world" and ideals of love, and family life are despised.
    d. He rushes to her bedside and sits there watching over her.
    e. Even the nurse can't understand why John is unhappy when his mum dies.

6. Conditional Sentences
    Example :
    a. If it rains, I won't come.
    b. If you heat water to 100 degrees, it boils.
    c. If you don't hurry, you will miss the train.
    d. If it rains today, you will get wet.
    e. If the weather is nice, she walks to work.

7. Stative Verbs (like, hate, remember, hear, think, believe, love, know)
    Example :
    a. This soup tastes great.
    b. You look fabulous.
    c. He hates garlic.
    d. I want to get away from here.
    e. My sister prefers tea to coffee.

8. The Future After "when", "until", "after", "before", "as soon as"
    Example :
    a. I will call you when I have time.
    b. I won't go out until it stops raining.
    c. She has breakfast and then she goes into the bathroom.
    d. After that she puts on her clothes.
    e. When the bus arrives, she gets on the bus and goes to work.

PAST SIMPLE



Past Simple is a verb tense (the second principal part of a verb) indicating action that occured in the past and which does not extend into the present.

Subject + Verb2 + Object

1. Action in the Past
    Example :
    a. I saw a movie yesterday.
    b. Last year, I travelled to Korea.
    c. I visited Berlin last week.
    d. Andrew watched TV yesterday.
    e. My friends went to Paris a week ago.

2. Stories, list of events
    Example :
    a. He went to a cafe, sat down and ate a cake.
    b. Yesterday I went to the library, met a friend for lunch, and played tennis.
    c. The postman came in, gave me the documents and left.
    d. First I got up, then I had breakfast.
    e. He entered a room, ate a cake and smiled at the guest.

3. Duration in the past
    Example :
    a.  I live in Brazil for two years.
    b. She came to Germany two years ago.
    c. It rained every day for a week on my vacation.
    d. They didn't stay at the party the entire time.
    e. We talked on the phone for thirty minutes.

4. Habits in the past
    Example :
    a.  I studied French whenI was a child.
    b. He played the violin when I was a child.
    c. Did you play a musical instrument when you were a kid?
    d. She worked at the movie theater after school.
    e. She never went to school, they always skipped class.

5. Facts or Generatizations in the Past
    Example :
    a.  He didn't like tomatoes before.
    b. She was shy a child, but now she is very outgoing.
    c. People paid much more to make cell phone calls in the past.
    d. I've been on holiday. I went to Spain and Portugal.
    e. We moved to a new house.

6. Part of the conditional II
    Example :
    a. If I won the lottery, I would buy a new house.
    b. I would help you if I had time!
    c. If I were the teacher I would give lots of homework everyday!
    d. What would you buy if you won a lot of money?
    e. If I found her address, I would send her an invitation.

7. When? Clauses
    Example :
    a. When I paid her one dollar, she answered my question.
    b. He was working for an internet start-up when I was still attending classes in college.
    c. Kate was skating when she fell and broke her leg.
    d. We were picking up mushrooms when a fox ran in front of us.
    e. The fans were getting impatient when their favorite star came on stay.
